Not that Qantas aren’t doing a good job of getting the message out there, but we thought the message important enough to repeat on our website. We would like to ensure that you have been fully informed of Qantas’s business rewards program, Aquire.
We believe that Aquire membership is an invaluable opportunity for your business to maximise its existing relationship with Qantas whilst being rewarded for everyday transactions.
Qantas Aquire was launched on the 30th of March 2014 and was designed to reward businesses for their employees’ business travel. Membership is available to all businesses with an Australian Business Number (ABN).
Business employees are still able to earn individual Qantas Frequent Flyer points whilst at the same time earning Aquire points for their business. The Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number and ABN number must be recorded in the traveller’s booking for Aquire points to be earned, once the business has acquired membership of the program.
The annual fee for Aquire membership is $179.00. Businesses that join before the 30th of September 2014, will have their first year’s annual membership waived.
Businesses that join before the 31st of May 2014 will also have a chance to win an amazing Business Booster prize package worth over $30,000! Click on this link for details.
Please also note that for a limited time, those employees who are not yet Qantas Frequent Flyers can enjoy complimentary Qantas Frequent Flyer membership provided they join by the 30th of June 2014. Simply direct these employees to www.qantas.com/joinfree. Conditions apply. (You must be a Qantas Frequent Flyer member to earn and redeem Qantas and therefore Aquire points.)
Qantas and Aquire points will be offered on eligible domestic and international Qantas flights carrying a Qantas flight number. Aquire points are calculated as a percentage of Qantas points earned. For example, for Qantas domestic and international business classes J and C, the Aquire points earn will be 50% of the Qantas points earn.
Aquire points can then be converted to Qantas points at a ratio of 1:1. Please note, however, that points cannot be transferred until two of the Aquire member’s flyers have travelled on one or more eligible Qantas flights and not until there are at least 20,000 points in the member’s Aquire account.
In addition to earning points via flights, you will also be able to turn everyday business expenses into rewards via a range of partners currently including Westpac, GIO Business Insurance, Snap, Avis Car Rental, Budget Car Rental and more.
Your business accountant or tax adviser should be contacted to discuss possible tax implications, e.g. fringe benefits tax.
