In the past, we have treated small bands of race fans to the home of sweet bourbon and beautiful chicken – Kentucky, of course – for an extended American adventure, with seats at the famous Churchill Downs track for the Derby itself.
And what a grand time was had by all!
From experiencing, first-hand, ‘the most exciting two minutes in sport’ to savouring the Kentucky Derby’s long-standing traditions including the Garland of Roses and a Mint Julep or two, racing fans from the land Down Under can enjoy a fine occasion in the good old U.S. of A.

First and foremost, you’ll reserve your seat at the Churchill Downs racecourse in Louisville – the home of the Kentucky Derby. It’s here that you’ll watch 20 of the world’s greatest racehorses thundering down the track in a fast, frantic two minutes that’s bound to have the adrenaline coursing through your veins.
Whilst there, consider visiting Keeneland Race Course, right in the heart of Kentucky’s revered Bluegrass region, as well as watching track work from the sidelines. You could also visit four prominent stud farms to see if you can spot any new talent emerging!
