What can you look forward to at the Hong Kong International Races 2015?

At the start of every year, the ardent racing fan digs out his or her calendar and marks the most important, must-see events that are taking place across the following 12 months. The Dubai World Cup takes place in March, the famous Grand National in April and the Kentucky Derby following up in May. The pageantry of the Royal Ascot occurs in June, and the blistering energy of the Cox Plate traditionally takes place in October.

How does the racing world bring to an end this fantastic array of equine excitement each year?

Simple – with the Hong Kong International Races. In the middle of December, many of us are scrambling around in an effort to complete our Christmas shopping, but this year, why not get it done early and head out to Hong Kong with Motive Travel? You don’t need an excuse –  this is when the Hong Kong International Races 2015 takes place, and we’ve put together an incredible package that racing fans simply can’t ignore this Yuletide.

You’ll descend into a melting-pot of racing royalty, with famous jockeys, horses and owners mingling around the place to create an outstanding atmosphere.

Hong Kong hijinks

We’ll be flying out to one of the world’s most vibrant cities, Hong Kong, for a week of racing excellence in December, but this isn’t simply some run-of-the-mill package that you could pick up anywhere. We at Motive Travel have roped in the services of top racing pundit Darren McAullay, who’ll be on hand to dispense advice and insider tips across each of the four main races, as well as providing amusing anecdotes from his past career.

Split across two of the world’s most impressive racecourses – the Sha Tin and Happy Valley – the Hong Kong International Races isn’t just about who crosses the line first in each of its four main events – though that is still important! Rather, you’ll descend into a melting-pot of racing royalty, with famous jockeys, horses and owners mingling around the place to create an outstanding atmosphere.

Race of champions

The racing, though, is what it’s all about. There are four major races over 2 race days that you’ll attend in Hong Kong with Motive Travel, each with their own unique charm. The Cup, Mile, Vase and Sprint are all there to be enjoyed, with many millions of dollars expected to change hands over the course of the week in winnings and purses.

Just take a look at some of these numbers: The winner of Hong Kong Cup will take home in excess of AU$2,500,000 in prize money, with the victor of the Mile awarded almost as much.

Take a look at what we’re offering race fans this Christmas – and maybe Santa Claus will deliver you a victorious betting slip!
