For over 40 years now, Motive Travel have been the go-to Western Australian travel agency when it comes to the big sporting events. Though it’s true that Motive can take you just about anywhere, for any occasion, it’s our annual tour packages for which we are best known. Every year, we take an excited bunch of sports fans (or music and wine, if you take into consideration the Leeuwin Estate Concert!) to a broad range of different events, both here in Australia and all around the world.
Even if we tried, we couldn’t tell you how many satisfied customers we’ve taken with us to some of the best-known sporting events on the planet, but it must number in the many thousands. Take a look below at our six core tour packages that continue to be popular, year-on-year.
Football’s coming home
Our director/proprietor George Michalczyk has been to every single one of the last 41 AFL Grand Finals, so it’s little surprise that our packages to that particular spectacle are immensely popular. Because it looked for so long as though we might have a Western Derby as showpiece final in 2015, interest went through the roof with regards to our tour packages. Sadly, we didn’t get the Eagles versus Dockers game all Western Australians were dreaming of, but a grand day out was had by all anyway. Besides, there’s always the 2016 season…
Nearly 99,000 people squeezed into the MCG to see Hawthorn beat the Eagles, but the footy isn’t the only thing that George and the team at Motive are interested in. Far from it – horse racing is very close to our hearts, too!
Hold your horses
That’s why we always put on something extra special for our events of equine excellence. For example, during last year’s Cox Plate when Winx romped to victory, Western Australian Race Horse Owner’s Association and Committee Member of Perth Racing, Harvey Crossman, joined us to add a bit of star quality.
We aren’t confined to Australia when it comes to the ‘Sport of Kings,’ however – we also fly out to the ‘richest horse race in the world’ at the Dubai World Cup, where some AU$23 million changes hands over the event’s duration. A third of that is wagered on the race itself, and who wouldn’t want to put a few cents down with such generous odds flying about? Our passports go even further than Dubai, however, as we also head to the United States, Great Britain and Hong Kong to attend the best that their respective meets have to offer.
