You don’t need to spend too long browsing your way around the Motive Travel website to know that we’re big fans of horse racing. Commonly referred to as the ‘Sport of Kings’, horse racing is one of our fortes, and Motive Travel have long organised trips to some of the great equestrian events all around the world. Let’s take a look at a few of them, and an exciting new feature that will be coming to our blog in the very near future.
Here in Australia, we head over to the prestigious Cox Plate. Held since 1922, this frenetic, fast-paced race forms part of the ‘Triple Crown’ of Australian horse racing, alongside the Caulfield and Melbourne Cup. Prize money reaches AU$3.5 million, making it the third-richest Aussie race.
Dubai World Cup
We fly over to the extravagant city of Dubai to take in the sights and spectacle of the ‘World’s Richest Horse Race‘ where some AU$23 million will change hands over nine Group 1 and 2 events. Who wouldn’t enjoy a slice of that pie?
Hong Kong International Races
In December, we take a break from the madness and mayhem of Christmas shopping to drink in the experience of the Hong Kong International Races. The Cup, Mile, Vase and Sprint are four races revered the world over, each with their own attraction factor.
The American state of Kentucky is famous for both its outstanding bourbon and chicken, but we head Stateside for another of its main attractions – the Kentucky Derby. Why not head on out the American Midwest with us to enjoy ‘the fastest two minutes in sport?’
The pomp and the pageantry of the Royal Ascot is just as well-known as the racing itself – you can be sure to pick out some extravagant headwear you just won’t see anywhere else!
Keep an eye on the Motive Travel blog for something eye-catchingly, spectacular very soon – racing fans won’t want to miss it!
